Periodic office assessment has been a mandatory requirement under the Pharmacological Behaviour Management Bylaw for private dental practices offering nitrous oxide, intravenous conscious sedation or general anaesthesia.

Positive feedback from those participating offices and the recommendations of the Taskforce on Office Assessment formed the basis of the MDA Board approving opportunities for members to have their practices assessed voluntarily. 

Resources limit the number of dental offices which can be visited annually. Priority for office assessments will be given to those office required by legislation to be reviewed. Voluntary office assessments will be prioritized on a first come basis subject to scheduling availability.
